People come from all over the world to visit Charlotte and attend these events in the spring, but they are right in your back door. We thought we’d share a few that looked like fun.
Charlotte Jazz Festival (April 21)
Jazz has always been popular in Charlotte, but it took many years before someone decided to organize a Jazz Festival event in this city. This April 21, we will witness the second annual festival dedicated to jazz. The host, Blumenthal Performing Arts together with The Leon Levine Foundation promise great fun and top notch jazz music on two separate stages in the Lincoln Center.
East Meets West Food Festival (April 16)
Without any doubts, the specific cuisine in Charlotte is respected not only by local residents but all over the Southeast. However, this year’s food and beverage lovers can enjoy a Food Festival dedicated to local, national and international cuisine. The event called East Meets West will take place in Hilton Charlotte University Place and it will include culture exhibitions, food and music from different places around the US and the world. This festival is all about promoting different cultures and everyone is invited – the admission is free.
St. Philip Neri Italian Festival (May 19)
Charlotte has a small but compact Italian community. This festival is organized in order to promote Italian food, music, entertainment and Italian culture in general. In addition, to the music performance, visitors can expect live and silent auctions, charitable drawings and 5.000 feet run.
North Carolina Science Festival (April 18)
Those interested in science will love this annual festival. It is held in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library (or its West Boulevard Branch to be more precise) and it is focused on allowing participants to present their science projects. This time, participants will mostly be focused on the great egg drop challenge.
PNC Speed Street 5K (May 28)
Individuals who want to run through real speed street should not miss this exceptional event. This 2016, we will witness the second PNC Speed Street 5K. The run is open for people of all ages which mean even kids can compete on the 600-yard entertaining speed street. This is an excellent event for the whole family.
